Today was Young Writer's Club! (In our school, that is, it's not affiliated with the NaNo YWP or anything... though that will soon change, hehehe.) The nine words this time were: Pegasus; shark; volcano; shiny; pony; honour; Japan; best; and boombastic.
On an island in the Pacific, a man from Japan named Ryuu lived with his pony in a house full of shiny things. One day, he stumbled across a garden full of rare herbs. Thinking it abandoned, he took the herbs and went home. But in doing so, he greatly angered the kappa who owned the garden. The kappa tracked him down and attacked the man as he was having tea. The man was startled, but was able to fend off the irate kappa with one of the many shiny things he kept in his house. It turned out to be a sword.
The kappa took this as a declaration of war and promptly cast a spell which cause the volcano to explode. At this point, the man's pony, Boombastic, transformed into a pegasus, allowing him to escape. But the kappa simply cast another spell which caused him to sprout wings. He flew after Ryuu and challenged him to a duel, which eventually resulted in an unimaginably epic sword battle over the burning island.
The man from Japan won the duel, and because the kappa valued his honour above his life, he admitted defeat , fell into the sea, and was devoured by a shark. Ryuu went back to Japan and lived happily to the end of his days with his flying pony.
